Out Of My Mind-Back In 5 Minutes

 Looooooooooog Time No See

Well, actually I'm not dead. I didn't fall off the edge of the world. I didn't even decide to take some "time off" from blogging. Time does fly I guess. I had kind of a dilemna in my life that's kind of settled now. I guess I should have been writing about it! What's a blog for?

Anyway, the big news here is that for the last couple of months I was involved in a custody battle over my god daughter and her parents! The good news is I won custody of her (at least for the present time)! Of course there are much more "sorted details" than that which I may go into detail later about but right now I'm kind of tired so I just wanted to publish this entry and let the world know I still exist!!!

 Mom's Day

Wow! Yesterday was my Mom's 86th Birthday! We went out to a Chinese restaurant that she likes. It was very good. My sister is coming on Sunday which is also Mother's Day and we are going to cook! Woo-Hoo! Turn out the pilot light 'cos Sunday I'm riding the range!

Alot of friends and a few relatives came to see her too. An old friend she hadn't seen in several years even called from South Carolina. Some of my stupider relations seem to have forgotten my Mom except when weddings and/or baptisms roll around. They can all rot in hell as far as I'm concerned. My Mom has a lot of trouble remembering things these days as I've mentioned before. Sometimes we didn't always see eye to eye. But she was always there to take care of our family. She was a Sunday school teacher for 30 years and she and my Dad have been married 63 years!

Happy Birthday Mom!

 Movies Make You Crazy

I love movies. All movies! Low budget horror, film noir, silents, westerns. I watch them all...except for the movies they make today. I admit I don't know much about them. I don't see movies in theaters much. It's expensive, noisy and you have to sit though 20-30 minutes of previews and commercials! Commercials in a movie theater! Who'd of thought it? And I used to complain when ushers came around collecting money for The Will Rogers Foundation!

It seems the media plus these "eminent doctors, physchiarists, sociologists and other assorted eggheads" might have a field day blaming the Korean movie OLDBOY in part for the murderous actions of Cho Seung-Hui at Virginia Tech. It was only a matter of time. Heavy metal music, a violent video game or a movie. That's their answer. It scares them I guess because no one really knows what set Cho off besides the fact that he was insane. They do a lot of talking about it after the fact. It's all bullshit. Movies don't kill people. It's just excuse.

This will probably be my last entry here for a while but I'll keep posting movie reviews on my other blog:

Please come by and enjoy some of my crazy movie reviews!

 Maybe...

Well, they have identified the gunman from the Virginia Tech killings.
He was a student there. He was not an illegal immigrant as one of the first reports stated but a legal resident who came from Korea in 1992. It was fairly easy for him to buy the guns he used in the killings but it seems the authorities are trying to find a motive except that he might have "hated rich kids". I guess it really doesn't matter that much now. All the theories and opinions won't bring back the 32 people he killed.

You know doctors, psychiatrists, whoever are always talking after a tragedy like this about how they have to study the whole situation so something like this will never happen again. Well, this isn't the first or even second time something like this has happened. And all they are all still talking!

I don't know if the easy availability of the guns he used was the main culprit here. He could have gotten guns illegally too I suppose but what drives a person to do such a thing and no one seems to have an inkling about it until after it happens?

Maybe we'll never know...
